About Cameroon

Cameroon is a country in west-central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west and north; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Its coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. Due to its strategic position at the crossroads between West Africa and Central Africa, it has been categorized as being in both camps.

The primary environmental concerns in Cameroon are pollution, deforestation and overgrazing result in erosion, desertification, and reduced quality of pastureland; poaching; overfishing; overhunting

About Eric

Eric has worked all his career after leaving university for the Last Great Ape Organisation (LAGA) who work hand in hand with the Cameroon government to enforce legal action against poachers and illegal wildlife traders.

Since LAGA’s founding in 2003 by Ofir Drori, the illegal trade has been driven off the streets where it once existed unchallenged and has made many illegal activities extremely difficult resulting in their reduction and an increase in many previously threatened animal species

LAGA’s model has been so successful that it has received numerous awards and is currently operating in eight countries and consolidated into a network known as EAGLE (Eco Activists for Governance and Law Enforcement) Network.
